My work in Mathematics

Since 1994, it is becoming clear that I shall devote my professional life into three categories:

Mathematics: Numerical Analysis, Wavelets.
Teaching: Mathematics, Computer Science.
Chinese Computing.

I consider teaching is my job, mathematics is my profession, and Chinese computing is my hobby. I admire mathematics and I would like to be referred to as a mathematician.

But, sometime in 2003, I suddenly realized that: although I will continue to work in mathematics, but my true contribution will be in education. During 1999 and 2002, I shifted my focus almost unconsciously from mathematics to mathematical education. I put the education part of work in the category of Teaching.
